9. Tell me more about Databeacon’s Smart Client family of products

The Databeacon Smart Client product family offers Web Reporting and Data Analysis software for Mid-market enterprises and departments of larger organizations deploying explorable reports to a PC-equipped audience enabled with the Microsoft .NET Framework. Databeacon Smart Client products leverage Microsoft’s .NET Framework to offer multiple report viewers, unparalleled integration with Windows desktop tools, and a more robust security model.

With Databeacon Smart Client products, I.T. can quickly package and present data as self-serve explorable reports. Operational managers can view standard reports using Databeacon Web Reporter (for information consumers), explore them further with either Databeacon Player (for data explorers) or Databeacon Insight (for power user analysts) and save new reports as insights arrive. Databeacon Smart Client products provide the following capabilities:

Databeacon Smart Client products offer three innovative and complementary smart client viewers to increase adoption of Web Reporting and Data Analysis. Instead of a one-size-fits-all user experience Databeacon Smart Client’s Web Reporter, Player and Insight viewers are built to suit differing user requirements.

The three Databeacon Smart Client viewers are:

Databeacon Web Reporter for information consumers

Databeacon Player for data explorers

Databeacon Insight for power user analysts, report designers and I.T.

Databeacon Smart Client products leverage the .NET Framework on the operational manager’s PC to deliver a Web Reporting and Data Analysis solution that is more responsive and familiar in its desktop experience, including:

• Improved usability and performance consistent with the Windows XP look and feel
• Standard Windows printing and print preview
• Improved Windows desktop integration to Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and even the clipboard
• Improved reporting and report design, including XML report generation
• More productive development environment, including parameterized queries and customized cube profiles
• Support for a common .cb4 cube format that can be used with Databeacon Open Client products
• Access security based on site trust levels, not certificates requiring user acknowledgement. With .NET security, administrators and users are in complete control of what runs on the client machine

Databeacon Smart Client is available in three different products — Databeacon Analyst, Databeacon Smart Client Standard, and Databeacon Smart Client Professional.
